About the product:
RED & GOLD PAISLEY POOJA THALI SET: This design is golden paisley butis worked across a red base with a raised gold border. It is a 10.5 inch metal plate, decorated by hand, so the placing of each pearl, stone and line of gold work differs slightly from piece to piece - that is what separates a hand finished thali from a machine pressed one. Arrives ready to use, nothing to fit or assemble. EVERYTHING THE AARTI NEEDS IN ONE THALI: It comes with two attached katori bowls and a moulded diya seat, so tilak, akshat and prasad all sit on the same plate instead of being carried in three separate bowls. The rim is wide enough to hold a lit diya steady while the thali is being moved, and flat enough to rest on a pooja shelf between poojas. Use it as a complete aarti thali set for pooja or simply as a decorative pooja thali on the mandir shelf. BUILT FOR THE FESTIVAL CALENDAR, NOT ONE DAY: Karwa Chauth, Dhanteras puja, Diwali and Tulsi Vivah. Earlier in the year it works through Navratri golu, Ganesh Chaturthi, Janmashtami and Teej, and it is the same thali people reach for as a rakhi thali on Raksha Bandhan. Because nothing on it is dated to one festival, one purchase covers the whole year instead of sitting unused after a single evening. ALSO A FUNCTION THALI, NOT ONLY A POOJA ONE: Families use it for engagement, anniversary puja and satyanarayan katha, where a decorated plate has to look right in photographs and still be practical to carry. In most ceremonies an elder usually carries it first, so weight matters - this is light enough to hold in one hand through a long ritual. The surface wipes clean with a dry cloth: no polishing, no washing, and nothing tarnishes if it sits in the cupboard for months. HANDMADE IN RAJASTHAN BY JH GALLERY ARTISANS: Each thali is finished by hand in a working karigar workshop, which is why small differences in shade and placement are normal and are the mark of genuine handwork. Store it flat in a dry cupboard so the decoration keeps its shape. It packs flat in a protective box, which also makes it a gift for a new home mandir that does not need extra wrapping.
Description:
A decorative pooja thali set from JH Gallery - golden paisley butis worked across a red base with a raised gold border - a 10.5 inch metal plate finished by hand, with two attached katori bowls and a moulded seat for the diya. In most Indian homes the aarti thali is the one object every member of the family touches during a pooja, so it has to look right and still be easy to carry. This one is built as a complete puja thali set rather than a bare plate: the katoris and the diya place are part of the thali itself, so roli, chawal, chandan, haldi, kumkum and the lit diya all travel together on one hand. Use it as an aarti thali set for pooja, an arti thali for pooja room and home mandir, a decorative pooja thali on the temple shelf, a thali set for pooja during a katha, or a tilak thali when guests arrive. Through the year it covers Karwa Chauth with the karwa and chalni, Dhanteras, Diwali Lakshmi pujan, Govardhan Puja and Bhai Dooj, and earlier Navratri, Ganesh Chaturthi, Janmashtami, Teej and Vat Savitri. It is also the thali families use as a rakhi thali on Raksha Bandhan, and as a ring platter for engagement ceremony, sagai, shagun, tilak, godh bharai, mundan and griha pravesh. Because the decoration is festival-neutral, one thali serves the whole calendar instead of one evening. Why a set and not a plain plate: on a bare thali the katoris slide and the diya has no fixed seat, so someone must hold a second bowl through the whole aarti. Here both are fixed to the thali, so it can be lifted, circled and set down with one hand - which is what matters when the thali keeps moving from person to person. Care: wipe with a dry soft cloth. Keep it away from water and cleaning liquids, and do not rest a burning wick directly on the decorated surface. Store it flat in a dry cupboard between festivals. Handmade item - slight variation in shade, bead placement and finish between pieces is normal and part of genuine handwork by artisans in Rajasthan.Legal Disclaimer: Product images are for illustrative purposes only.
