A Handi is a deep, wide-mouthed traditional cooking vessel used in north Indian and Bengali cooking. Mutton Handi is reddish brown, onion and tomato based semi dry preparation cooked and served in a Handi. Experience the authentic dhaba style curry at home with Suhana Mutton Handi Masala.

Ingredients required:
- 2 Medium / 150g, fresh tomato puree
- 2 Medium / 100g, Onion puree.
- 500g Mutton, cut into medium pieces.
- 2 tbsp / 30g dry coconut, grated.
- Entire packet of Suhana Mutton Handi Masala (50g)
- 4 tbsp oil
- 4 cups / 800ml water
- For garnishing: Fresh coriander leaves, chopped.
Ingredients: Chilli, Onion, Salt, Sesame Seed, Garlic, Coriander, Cumin, Clove, Black Pepper, Sugar, Ginger, Fennel, Star Anise, Curry Leaves, Bay Leaf, Spices and Condiments, Lichen.
How to make:
- Make a paste of Suhana Mutton Handi Masala with ½ cup / 100ml water and keep aside.
- Roast dry coconut on low flame till light golden brown and grind to fine paste using water.
- Heat oil in a pressure cooker, add onion puree and saute for 5-6 minutes till oil oozes out.
- Add coconut paste and saute for 3-4 minutes till oil oozes out. Add tomato puree and saute for 4-5 minutes till oil oozes out.
- Add above paste and cook for a minute. Add mutton and saute for 1-2 minutes.
- Add 3 cups / 600ml water and mix well. Pressure cook on medium flame for 15-20 minutes or till mutton is cooked with required consistency.
- Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot with chapati, bhakri, roti and rice.
Suhana Tip:
- You can also add chilli powder while cooking to make it more hot and spicy.
- After opening transfer, the contents into an airtight container. Store in a cool and dry place.
