IKAI Natural Bhut Jholokia (King Chilli)

About the Product:
  • Our Natural Bhut Jolokia is the hottest naturally occurring chilli in the world. Sourced from Nagaland, it is believed to have originated there and is also called Naga King Chilli. Bhut Jholokia is what it is popularly called in Assam. Today this chilli is famous world wide as Bhut Jholokia or Ghost peppers. Bhut Jolokia is a symbol of indigenous dignity, strength and passion. The Kuki tribes of Manipur used to tie one of these to a burning log of wood to declare war. Today, this chilli is grown across the world. But it loses its pungency when grown outside the particular climate of Northeast India. Why settle for less when you can have the real deal?
  • Why eat it?
  • It has more than 1,00,000 SHU and is 5 times hotter than the Habanero. It can give you goose bumps and make you sweat even as it cures aches, colds and digestive disorders. It doesn’t hit immediately, give it 30-45 seconds after the bite, they are sure to make you teary eyed.
  • Cooking tips:
  • Use it sparingly in stews, curries, meats and sauces. Use gloves while working with them, or wash your hands immediately. A dream come true for chilli lovers, the Bhoot Jholakia needs to be handled with care and consumed with love.
