Porosity of hair decides its ability to absorb and retain moisture. High Porosity hair cannot retain moisture and it requires sulphate free, oil-based shampoo which cleanses as well as locks moisture inside cuticle. Low Porosity hair carries residues and requires glycerin-based shampoo to penetrate moisture inside cuticle, more than oil based. Medium Porosity hair can retain required moisture for the hair.
