Pregnancy is one of the most important phases in a woman’s life. While it is an obvious joy to hold the little angel, this sweet moment comes through lot of pain and toil. After delivery the new mother may face multiple health issues and need proper care to cope up with the stress of giving birth to a new born. So, it is just not important to care and protect the new born baby but also the new mother requires ultimate love and care of her friends and family. To regain health and energy, a new mother needs proper nutrition and also may have dietary supplements. Kadha is one of the most popular Ayurvedic supplements given to new mothers to provide them with adequate postpartum nourishment. This is one of the natural ways to regain health post-delivery. Baidyanath has followed the Ayurvedic principles to prepare three types of kadha, namely, Baidyanath Balant Kadha No.1, Baidyanath Balant Kadha No.2 and Baidyanath Balant Kadha No.3. This set of health tonics may be used as a post natal supplement.
Each of Baidyanath BalantKadha No. 1, 2 and 3 are enriched with herbal goodness. The key ingredients of these Kadha are-
Jaggery is known to improve the milk production in new mothers. So regular intake of jaggery may help in breast feeding. Often referred as Superfood Sweetener, jaggery is rich in iron, glucose and fructose. It is known to flush out toxins from the blood.
Known as Sal Leaved Desmodium in English, this medicinal herb is antipyretic, antiseptic and anti-inflammatory in nature. Shalparni may help in healing wounds and reducing infections. Th8s herb is also known to improve the digestive fire and hence may prevent nausea and vomiting.
Asthma, vomiting, skin disease, burning sensation or fever, prisniparni herb is known to be effective in all these health issues. This small medicinal plant is aphrodisiac, anti-inflammatory and analgesic in nature.

So when should one take each of these herbal tonics and what are the benefits? While the common benefit of all these three type of Kadha is to help the new mother cope with the fatigue and pain of delivery, each Kadha should be given during a specified time span after delivery. This set of herbal tonic regulates the female hormones and restores the strength and energy after delivery.
Baidyanath Balant Kadha No.1 can be taken right after delivery. It should be taken for the first 10 days. This kadha is known to improve the body immunity against health issues like cough and cold.
This Kadha also acts as an anti-inflammatory and pain relief. It may help the mother get some respite from the pain and swelling caused due to bleeding and lactation.
Baidyanath Balant Kadha No.2 is usually given from the 11th day of the delivery. This health tonic may provide strength to the mother and also offer some relief from post-delivery health issues like constipation.
This Kadha is known to add nutrition to mother’s milk and hence is also beneficial to the new born.
Baidyanath Balant Kadha No.3 is given from the twenty first day of the delivery. This health tonic can help the new mothers recover from weakness and post-delivery health issues like constipation.
This Kadha is also rich in protein, minerals and vitamins. For this reason, it adds more nutrition to mother’s milk and hence is more effective to the new born.
Baidyanath Balant Kadha No. 1, 2 and 3 should be given to new mothers. The dose of this set of herbal tonic may vary as per the physical condition and age of the person. The general dose for all these 3 types of Kadha is 3-4 tablespoon of the Kadha thrice a day. The tonic should be taken after meals. Mix equal amount of warm water with the Kadha before consumption.
